Biography
Fifteen years spent in the open learning/e-learning industry as both a practitioner (four years as Flexible Learning Integration Manager with Lloyds TSB) and consultant (Head of Professional Learning Services at Xebec McGraw-Hill/McGraw-Hill Lifetime Learning and Director with Balance Learning Limited, a producer of blended learning training solutions for corporate clients). From 2005 to 2008, was Programme Director, E-learning at Management Centre Europe (AMA), Brussels; then Director of Business and Product Development at Academy28. Now e-learning specialist at Eversheds LLP. Frequent speaker at conferences and contributor to the training press and online practitioner networks.
Professional interests include:
Training strategy development, deployment and evaluation, encompassing all media types, especially technology-based methods using an integrated approach. Return on investment models and the evaluation of training, in particular soft skills training. Specification, selection and implementation of learning management systems and online skills and competency management tools. Development of integrated (blended) learning solutions and online assessment and certification strategies. Leveraging of web-conferencing platforms for learning and development and researching the most appropriate application of mobile devices for corporate education.
